Aimed at increasing the penetration of internet across India, Google has launched a new internet access platform called Google Station.

Earlier this year, the company launched the world's largest public Wi-Fi project - RailWire.

Aimed at enabling millions of travellers to connect to high-speed internet, it has 3.5 million monthly active users and 15,000 new users coming online every day.

Google plans to expand this project with the launch of Google Station, providing more Wi-Fi spots in public spaces like bus stops, cafeterias and shopping malls.
