AT&T Galaxy S6, S6 Edge+, and Note 5 get Wi-Fi calling, Advanced Messaging and security updates
AT&T and Samsung both deserve a pat on the back after pushing new updates to the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge+, somehow dispelling a portion of their bad reputation at rolling out software and security patches.

First in the pipeline is Wi-Fi calling. AT&T is finally bringing this feature to the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge+, and Galaxy Note 5 handsets after adding it to Samsung’s current generation Galaxy devices in recent months.
The OTA update also brings AT&T’s Advanced Messaging service to this line of devices, improving the messaging experience for subscribers.
Finally, the most important patch that comes with the OTA update is the September security fix, which AT&T is rolling out only to the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+.
The update package comes with a size of 405MB or 436MB, depending on the software version of your device. Software updates of this size will require a Wi-Fi connection and a battery life of more than 50 percent, AT&T says.
AT&T points out that only devices with the software version ending in PG1 or PH4 could get the update, which means you need to repeat the update process until you get to the PG1 or PH4 software versions.
If, as of this time, you have yet to receive the OTA update, keep checking your phone’s settings menu to see if the update is available.
